Download Problems?  If you are having problems downloading our files, we are working on this.  If you are using firefox right click while on the link and “Save Link As” and save it to your computer.  Then go to the file and open it.  If you are using Safari, you might have to download it and then go to the file and delete the .htm  at the end of the file.  Then you should be able to open it.  Sorry about the inconvience.

  1. Are there any special sites to SmartBoard use in the Foreign Language classroom? I am getting one soon and would like to connect with other teachers using SmartBoards to teach world languages.

I love the new site guys! You have obviously been very bust this summer. I’ll speak for all of us freeloaders and dedicated fans and say, “Thanks a million!!!”

  3. Agreed! Very impressed with your new look and sound. Looking forward to another year of sharing good ideas and practice!

I’ve learned so much from your podcasts! Even though I’m an English teacher, there’s a lot here that I can adapt. Thank you so much!

    hi mary,
There are many premade materials through smarttech resources, but you may enjoy this way of finding materials. Whiteboards are used all around the world (many different companies: Promethius, SMARTboard,Interactive Whiteboards etc). Google has specific google sites for most countries (google.ca, google.uk) Go to google, choose a country that is developed and uses the same language (French-use Google in Canada, Spanish-use Google in Spain), when you find the website, click on pages from that country only, then using keywords related to “interactive, whiteboards, manipulatives” and your subject- you will be delighted to find a plethora of resources created across the curriculum from k-12 all in the language that you will be teaching. This makes differentiating a pleasure and it’s fun to see what our colleagues are doing around the world!

  8. I am working on gathering online and notebook math manipulatives. I know about the nlvm, but it isn’t always what I need. Do you guys know of any free math manipulative web sites?

  9. Kristin

Try Harvey’s Homepage. Lots of good Math stuff there, including a notebook file that is full of manipulatives that you can save to your gallery

How can a I transfer my old powerpoints to smart board?

  11. smartboard

    Natalie,
Go to a new smartboard document. Click on File and then import. Go find your powerpoint file that you would like to transfer. It will actually start up powerpoint and the transfer it over and then close powerpoint. We will try to go through this process in an upcoming podcast.

  12. Summer

This is my first year working with a interactive whiteboard. I have listened to a few podcasts and they are very helpful. I would like to use some of the templates, but I do not have a smartboard, I have an interwrite board. Is it possible to use the files from your gallery in my interwrite board gallery.

    Thanks,
    Summer

I have wondered the same thing about power points. I have a Mac and I clicked on File and I only see Export. Is there another location to import Power Points on a Mac?

I don’t have any earth shattering ideas for you. I will give you the link for the PDF’s of the lessons that I have done with Conics.
If you would like any of these just email me and I can send you them as notebook documents.

I wish I could help you with the MAC issue. I do know that you could ask this question on the Smartboard Revolution Ning and someone would be able to answer your question.

  16. Try Illuminations from NCTM. They have a lot of great resources including manipulatives, lessons, and activities.
