What is Video Ordering? It is where you make short videos with SMARTBoard Recorder, and have students try to put them in the right order. This is done by linking the video to a shape on the screen. When the shape is touched, the video opens. Close the video and go on to the next video.
Video Ordering is a lesson that you can make for your student in a short amount of time. All you will need is a head-set ($15) voice recorder that plugs into your computer and SMARTBoard Notebook Software.
Here are the steps that I went through in the video
VIDEO ORDERING WITH SMARTBOARD
1. Create a problem that has an order with not more than 6 steps. Write out your steps in SMARTBoard Notebook Software.
2. Use SMART Recorder to screen capture your steps, naming them step 1, step 2 and so on.
3. Put your videos in your attachments.
4. Make some shapes in SMARTBoard Notebook and link them to your videos. Put them in the correct order.
5. Clone the page and write key on this page. Go back to the original and reorder the shapes.
6 Have your students come up in pairs, one pair at a time, to click on a video, watch it, conference together, and then order that video (shape). It will take four pairs of students to put the videos (shapes) in order.
In this podcast Scott and Dave talk more about the new MATH TOOLS software that SMART is offering. The Math Tools is an add on software package to the regular SMART notebook software. Also, there is a cool slide on the KOOSH ball game. Hope you can join us for this episode.
On our last podcast, part of the show was inadvertantly cut off. This is the last part of the show. It explains how to use the new book we just wrote called “Easy SMARTBoard Teaching Templates”. This book along with the gallery collection file called “Teaching Templates” off the website www.teachingwithsmartboard.com combine to make a very useful tool for any teacher with a SMARTBoard. We hope you enjoy the show.
We have written a book. It is called Easy Smartboard Teaching Templates. It is a great book for those who are experienced with Smartboard, and it is for a beginner Smartboard user as well. The premise of the book is that you need to start making lessons now. When you make lessons, you will learn how to use the software. This podcast describes in detail the things regarding the book. Click here to go to the blog entry on purchasing the book.
Here is a comment from somone who has been using the book.
Hey SMART Board Guys!
I just received your book and it is great. I like watching your podcasts and reading your blog but having a hard copy to refer to is really helpful. When I plan something I can easily and quickly flip through the book and find what I need which will then direct me to the specific resources. I am a consultant in the area of K-9 mathematics and SMART Board technology and I will recommend this to the teachers I work with when I am out and about our school district.

We also went to ISTE. This is the national TECHIE conference. We went to help with the SMART Technologies Booth and to do a couple of presentations. It was great fun and we interviewed a number of people regarding their thoughts on where Interactive Whiteboard Technology is headed. Enjoy.
In this episode we cover many of the new math tools available with the Smartboard Notebook Software. The tools that we cover today are graphs and tables. If you are a math teacher, this is a great podcast for you.
