This podcast is dedicated to the wonderful people of Cordova Alaska. We were asked to do some Smartboard Training up in Alaska and we said YES. It was a wonderful week up there. Beyond the beauty of Alaska, the people of Cordova Alaska were AWESOME. They were generous, welcoming, fun loving, and very proud of their city and state. Special thanks goes out to Mary and Keith for setting it all up for us. You are the BEST. So beyond talking about Alaska, we will talk about the teaching template “Matching Pairs” That is template Q in your book and in the teaching template gallery collection file. We will be selling the book at our website very soon. It is a laminated book with cardstock color pages. It is an excellent resource for your smartboard learning. Keep checking back to teachingwithsmartboard.com for updates.

This file is available for download at the resouces page. Click here to get there. http://smartboard.fatcow.com/resources/ Two column sorting is a template that can be used in any curriculum area. Enjoy and let us know how we can help you,
In this podcast we take a look at a template called Guess the picture. Here is how it works. You put a picture or a problem or a sentence behind a few squares. You have a student and their partner go to the Smartboard and delete one square. They and the rest of the class try to guess what the picture is from the revealed area. If they don’t guess correctly, another set of two people come up and delete another square. This occurs until the picture is guessed. Scott has designed a few cool holiday items for the podcast. He shows a really nice snowflake maker.
In this podcast we cover the teaching template called Order of Importance. This is a way to put a set of items in a certain order. However, the order depends on the students choices. The only thing the students have to do is JUSTIFY why they put items in the particular place. It is a great way to get students to engage in the material and take a stand. This can be used in almost any subject and any age. We also go over a few listener submitted letters. We have to admit that we forgot to put in the jokes this week. Some of you may be happy about that. We will definitely put them in next podcast.
In this Podcast we discuss a memorization technique that is interactive and fun. They are a way to have the students work through a vocabulary and definition or simply just a spelling word. We also talk about some user tips for beginners. Things like using the page sorter and the select button. Hope you can join us.
